Just after T.F. Oregon
We went to the Chu lai on some operation with the 101st. I don't remember the name of the operation , I do remember Chu Lai sucked, The few nights I was actually at Chu Lai there was no sleeping, I went down to the 175 area and told those guys to knock it off, after all one of those things was enough for anyone they didn't need to fire for hours. They never answered, just Two bags of powder and a tinny little bullit.

They had to fire lots of rounds as they were not very accurate.

Ron--was this late summer, early fall '67?
Thats where we went also Also you don't need to be real accurate with a 175 round, close is good. Ask me how I know this Stay good James

The old 175's, M107, (which we gave to Iran in the 70's) at maximum range, had a probable error of 1000 meters. Not to good for close support, but excellent for H&I missions or saturation fires.

Guessing, I would say somewhere around Aug/ Sept 67 cause we went to Kontum in Oct. The 101 didn't go with us to Kontum, We linked up with the 173 there. CA by Chinook to Kontum. Ron |
