Besides, 1941 was not a very nice time.

To one and all, thanks for the kind words and greetings! Like it or not, you're considered part of my large, and largely dysfunctional family, and you fit in quite well thank you!! Your greetings preceded and followed some of my blood's and brrod's phone calls, and each is as welcome as rain on a tin roof in August! Would have responded earlier, but a rather strenous session with my physical therapist left me a bit worn out, and I get tired of typing with one (the left) hand.

Then last night, my bride took me to dinner at "Hudson's on the Bend," probably the best reastaurant in Austin. They specialize in exotic game, and K.C. had Pecan Smoked Duck Brest shingled with seared diver scallops, nested in sweet potato Hash and cranberry chipotle sauce, while I feasted on Cascabel and espresso rubbed smoked elk backstrap topped with gulf coast crab and a chipotle lime beer blanc.

Making the birthday complete, got a great call from our lad in Baghdad early this morning. His calls, and reports about the reality he's in, are all great morale boosters around here, and a continuing tribute to our warriors there.

Thanks again for the blessings you have provided in my life!
