Because that's too simple. I've always said politics is a strange bird. Sometime's it can fly and the rest of the time - its laying eggs. One thing they have in common and that will never change - is that they Agree to Disagree on everything.
The Constitution is supposed to work better than that! It's too deep in substance and rules that unless all parties agree nothing gets done. Nothing has gotten done in the last 15-20 years. We are too busy fighting one another over issues the American public doesn't really give a shit about. We want the basics - Life - Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness - but that doesn't count in Government. They are all cut-throats self interest and money the more money they can get the better. Life time paychecks that we pay for and all the benefits they will ever need at our cost. I could go one but as far as the people - I really don't think they care until its time to vote and the its MOTS - (more of the same) Boats
