Thanks Keith, not trying to bring back bad memories, just trying to let people know what we do everyday. To me, it seems as though people do not realize what firefighters and first responders do everyday. The dangers they face and people they help. Our profession is almost as thankless as that of the soldier but no less dangerous.

I copy these stories from another web site I belong to, firehouse.com, check it out sometime, lots of good stuff there!

Tahnks for the report about the two engines. It's such a great reminder that when we are responding with lights and sirens, it is so important to stay safe. It's a lose/lose situation if you get injured or killed while rushing to save someonel else. Remember this sad episode when you are respnding catman, as I will. Blessings,

Connie C. Bornman, 56, a firefighter and EMT for Middle River Volunteer Rescue Company died while assisting a patient on Monday at approximately 3 p.m.

Bornman was a volunteer for the Middle River Volunteer Rescue Company for the past four years according to Division Chief Harold C. Cohen.

According to Cohen, she was on a call assisting a patient that was suffering from chest pains, when she went out to get a little fresh air. She sat in the front of the truck with the air conditioning on thinking it was the heat that was causing her trouble.
