Tiny

Tiny was in my platoon in Vietnam. We called him Tiny cause he was about 6foot 7 inches tall and I bet close to 280 lbs. In Vietnam , the last time I saw him we were putting him on a medivac, his legs shredded by an RPG.. 35 years go by and I get a call from Tiny . He and his wife are in Atlanta and ask me to come by to see him. Opened the hotel door and there is Tiny. Only Tiny is in a wheel chair with both legs gone way above the knees. Hours flew by. We stared on a almost daily computer and voice communication . I went to his house to visit him in Abilene , Tx. Tiny died 3 years ago today and I still miss him but am thankful we got together after so many years. Sharp hand salute brother , RIP. SCOUTS OUT !!!

DMZ - I called him while he was in the hospital. We chatted and I wished him well not knowing how bad things were going - he never let on that he was failing. I wish I had met the man - but only had this one call and to this day I can still hear his laughter on the phone. R.I.P. Tiny - you may be gone - but not forgotten - by many of your friends.

I never got to meet him but felt like knew him pretty well through you, John. I haven't, and won't, forget. Wish I'd gotten to shake his hand.
