Default Recon,State or Political Troopers???

Recon, State or Political Troopers???

Granted, in America the only people other than Cavalry or State Police sometimes referred to as: "Troopers" are usually from Show-biz and/or The Political Arena (ie. Hollywood, The Beltway and The Press/Media).

Still, The Show-biz, political and/or normally typical Media aspects aside,...NO REAL "TROOPERS" SHOULD EVER BE CONFUSED & MISUSED, and especially in Combat Zones and/or hostile Indian Territories. Such politically-correct foolishness is just too-damn-demoralizing and both dangerous and lethal for The U.S. Military TO FURTHER contend with.

Besides, why foolishly waste: "America's Finest" and/or Combat Experts on Police Duties? Let "Them" do what "They" train for 24/7 for and/or...WHAT "They" DO BEST.

Hell, only yesterday on FNC (Fox News Channel) from Iraq, an apparently disgruntled, bereaved and demoralized Young Trooper from The 3rd or 4th (not sure which) Infantry Division said it best. While being interviewed after witnessing some Buddies being wounded and killed by cowardly-criminal assasins during his IRRATIONAL (ie. riding-around as a target of opportunity) policing duties, such certainly opened my eyes to the sad folly of it all.

"He" was callously asked by some reporter about: "Morale". At which time The Young Trooper disgustingly shrugged-off the question without giving a definitive answer. However, The Trooper did sort-of pose a questioning statement to The Reporter with words to the effect that: "I can't understand why Recon is now doing a Police Job"? "It's just not right".

It's too bad that America's Politicos and/or The U.S. Military's bosses and micro-managers apparently can't see things as clearly as Young (Old also) Troopers do. What a shame. What a waste of flesh and blood. What a waste of Recon.

Well Friends, and since very unlikely that the aforementioned absurdities will ever be taken seriously or even debated by the politically engrossed Press and/or The Mainstream Media, where better than right here on The Patriot File Forum for a little discussion and some differently U.S. Military-friendliness (above all others) coming to the fore and prevailing?

All sensible and good suggestions and comments looked forward to from both Fellow Veterans and non-veterans alike.

Neil when you take a well trained trooper and trun him into doing duty like watching a bank or as you said doing police work that isn't going to be good for their morale they need to put the mp's into that place they've been trained for that kind of work. just the way I see it.

Default Razz...

Can't argue with that, nor the fact that putting the RIGHT People in the RIGHT place, at the RIGHT time, for doing the RIGHT job is the only way to ever TRULY fix things or resolve matters. Then, there are the political and/or politically-correct ways, that TRULY never resolve anything. Last time a conflict was ever TRULY ENDED,...was WWII. Though, politicos still managed to keep things boiling fairly well, even after WWII.

In essence, need humanitarian aid? Send in The Red Cross.
Need some law and order and or Martial Law? Send Military Police.
Need to destroy and/or kill the enemy? Send in a devastatingly lethal Combined Arms Team and/or Recon Sqdn. There's nothing better for such a duty. Hey,...don't believe me? Then, just ask any enemy coming-up against such, how well they faired?

Still Razz, you got to see the sad irony of it all. For most of my life I've heard from politicos of whatever bent that America shouldn't be: "The World's Cop". So, and excluding: "9/11" and/or our war on terrorism, why-the-hell do We always come-off as: "The World's Cop" year after year, after year? Do the Bosnians plan attacking us? Or, maybe The Liberians?

Besides, shouldn't we let others fight their own revolutions?

One of the problems we're faced with is there aren't enough MP's to rotate in and out of Iraq to successfully complete their mission.

It is necessary to use the Infantry because they add strength in #'s. If we're going to continue using the Infantry for police duties, we need to train them in enforcing/establishing law and order.
