Post D-Day Commemoration

VFW Reports 6-3-16 - D-Day Commemoration

RE: friendsoffreedom@vfw.org

Visitors to Washington, D.C., can help commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the D-Day landing at 10 a.m., June 6, at the National World War II Memorial. Wreaths will be placed at the Atlantic Arch in memory of the 9,000 Allied soldiers killed or wounded during the invasion. Aside from local area veterans, also expected to attend are more than two dozen WWII veterans on an Honor Flight trip from the San Francisco Bay area. To learn more or RSVP, click here.

O Almighty Lord God, who neither slumberest nor sleepest; Protect and assist, we beseech thee, all those who at home or abroad, by land, by sea, or in the air, are serving this country, that they, being armed with thy defence, may be preserved evermore in all perils; and being filled with wisdom and girded with strength, may do their duty to thy honour and glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
