Air Force Recruiter Stabbed


Air Force recruiter SSgt Sarah Charles was stabbed Dec 11th as she talked with a possible recruit. They were on 125th Street and Lennox Ave in Harlem when the attack occurred. SSgt Charles took three stab wounds to the abdomen and was rushed to the St. Luke's Hospital. She has since gone through surgery and is in stable condition.

A 23 year old Good Samaritan who went to Charles' aid was also wounded in the attack but he was treated and released.

As for the culprit, she is in custody. Her name is LaShawn Linton and is charged with: attempted murder, assault, and weapons possession. The weapon was also reportedly recovered.

SSgt Charles is a seven year veteran of the Air Force with the last 2 1/2 spent as a recruiter. She is also a New York native.
