Default My Man Cub his headed back into harm's way

Talked to my son tonight and found out that he's leaving Ft. Campbell for his 6th tour in the sand box. He's the Chaplain of the 5th SFG (Abn) I guess by the time he's home in one piece my hair will be solid grey. That's if I have any left by then. It's a "Short tour" only 7 months but it's seven months that I'll be praying and chewing my fingernails to the quick.

What my Homie said. Went to a military recruiting conference a couple of weeks ago, all junior military officers getting out. All had done at least two tours and most 3. Missed kids being born , taking first steps etc. They were all top notch people made me proud our military had such great people in it but sad they felt they couldn't stay in. Gotta love a chaplin with jump wings and a CIB !

He'll be home in about 3 months. The Chaplain assignment board is in 3 weeks and he is praying that he gets to go back to Ft. Bragg as Deputy Command Chaplain of SOCOM, The Army has told him that they want him to get a Masters Degree in some arcane topic called "ETHICS"and go back to West Point to teach it and be a Chaplain there, but he doesn't think he's "Politically Correct" enough to last a week there. He says he'd rather stay with the "Neat Guys" in Special Forces.

COL - I'm sure his calling will bring him home safe. Prayers to your Son and all Son's and Daughter's serving.
