Default Books

Have been going through some of Mom and Dad's old stuff and finally got around to sorting through all the books and things. Have quite an array of books to get rid of....mostly WWII and a little science. If anyone is interested let me know and I will post a list of them here, otherwise, they go to the DAV.

Will be glad to bring them to the mountain in April if anyone from there would like some or all!!!

Trav...

Check this site out before you decide to get rid of them. You never know some of them may be worth some good money.

Here's the link to the site and an example of how much John Kerry's infamous The New Soldier is going for: $319.00. Just go to link look to the left and find the window to key in the title or author.

Alibris

I'd love to see your list. Might think about your little one wanting one or two of those when she grows up....Sis

Wow....

These books tell a whole history about your Mom and Dad too Trav...

I would have loved to have sat around a kitchen table sharing coffee and conversation with them.

Yes I'm interested in several of the books esp the Civil War and William Shirer books.

Save those Louisa May Alcott books for your girl. They are classics and I would read them again as an adult. C.S. Lewis stated that childrens books are only worth reading if they hold the interest of an adult. I'll post the books I'd like to have in minute. I'll send the money for shipping to my PO Box.

Thank you...

Sis

Here's my list brother, but I want you to promise me towait a few days before you make up your mind to send them. When we go through hard things we sometimes make decisions we regret. You aren't always going to be thirty five years old. The days may come around when you wish for a quiet corner and a bookshelf full of books to reach for any time you please. Putting your hands on these books is just like holding the hands of those that read them before you. Just think about it ok? Sis

46. The Red Badge of Courage?Stephen Crane?good condition

Trav - I'd say they read some pretty good books. It's amazing how much you find out about your folks when there gone. I know I just finished my Dad's stuff not long ago.

After you removal the materials things - what they really called treasure was small and curious. It's like they say one Man's Treasure is another mans Junk.

Trav - reflect on these books and thumb through a few you may find some captions or notes where someone has written a comment about the subject they read. My Mom was a good for that.

Best to you
