One For The Books!!

Just when I thought that I had heard every stupid-ass remark imaginable, today, I ran into the granddaddy of all yard-birds!

I had to place a call this morning to arrange for dental insurance for my son who was recently injured in a bicycle accident in Arizona. The first contact that I attempted to make was with a dental clinic that I had talked with previously.

Naturally, I got a voice message that advised me that it was after hours and for me to call back at 8:30 A.M. Arizona time. The only problem was that it was already 8:45 A.M. when I called!? (Go Figure?)

When I finally did get through to a live body (I Think?), the gal who answered the phone refused to put me through to the clinic director, citing that this individual never comes to the phone, nor does she take incoming calls!!

I then asked her ?How in the Hell the director (who?s name she refused to give me) does business when she refuses to take phone calls?"

I was then ordered to leave my cell phone number and that this bonvivant director would eventually get back with me!

When I informed this phone jockey (receptionist) that I did not have a cell phone, the woman went ballistic, screaming over the phone that this was impossible - ?Everyone has a cell phone", she bellowed like a banshee on steroids!

When I again related to this belligerent babe that I did not have a cell phone, she adamantly insisted that I must be lying - everybody has one!! She then added that: ?Unless I gave her my cell phone number, no one there would return my call, my son would not get a dental appointment, and that was that!?

After the gal hung up on me, I got to thinking - ?Could I have gotten Lilly Tomlin (Laugh-in) by mistake? After all, no one could possibly be as stupid as this lady!??

?SO HANG ME - BECAUSE I DON?T HAVE A CELL PHONE!!?
