C-Rat stove: C-rat can with holes punched in the sides for air flow.
Heat Source: C-4; blue heat tab; dirt or sand saturated with mogas or diesel. Beans and Franks: numbah huckin' one. Beans and Muthas [Lima Beans]: Numbah huckin' ten. Ham and Eggs [green]: Numbah huckin' twelve! Spiced Beef mixed with Hickory Cheese Spread [heated]: Numbah huckin' one chop-chop.

Never made a stove. Just sat the can of C-'s on a 1 inch chunck of C-4 and held the lid, Didn't take long.

I believe by the time I got to Vietnam ( 1970 ), all the offending stuff above was not distributed to us ( 25th Div. ). Our platoon tracks might have went through many hundreds of these cases ( mechanized APCS ), and nobody got these. Will do some research. Larry
