Default Hey Super Scout...

I understand your a golfer? Well I've been known to chace a ball around and sometimes even stay out of the ruff!

If you ever get to Florida maybe we could play a round or two! That goes for everyone by the way.

Semper Fi,
Steve

Default Golfer?

The news of my being a golfer is greatly exaggerated! But I too enjoy the scenery that invariably accompanies a course, although I see much of it through the trees. A good point about being in the trees is that you get less sunburned there, and its easier to find a place to go whiz, when needed.

Not much travel being planned until next year, around April, when a bunch of us 9th Inf Div greybeards, specifically 2-47th Inf (Mech) types will gather at Ft Benning; might have to get up a tournament there. But the invitation is open for you to travel west, as i have not been banned from all the nearby courses yet, and we could hit a few.

Remember what one of my ol' First Shirts said: "Shoot low, the SOB's might be riding Shetlands!"

Are you trying to say something that even remotely relates to the topic at hand, i.e., golf?

Default Sure you can play with us!

As a matter of fact everyone can come play golf with us!

We could even let the golfers ride in carts so Paco Palmer, Super Scout Nicolas, Tiger Hixson and to round out ?The Big Three?, SeaSoldier Player. Damn, that was four! Oh well, ?The Big Three? sounds better then ?The Big Four? so we?ll leave it alone.

Or we could just get together and beat the cover off the ball somewhere where it?s not as hot as it is in South Florida in the summer time!

Keith, it is the highest score that wins in golf isn?t it? Or is that baseball? Anyway a 23 handicap is what score?

I?ve been playing golf for a number of years and I always thought my handicap was that skinny stick I try to hit that little ball with! (I really think I could hit it better with a Lewisville Slugger!)

Anyway, just tell me the place, I'll be there!

Steve

PS, you probably should tell me the time and date also. Don?t ya think?

Is your home base anywhere near Jacksonville? One of my former troops lives there!
Back in March, we had a "Scouts Scramble" here, and several ol' Scouts showed up; my golf game was still in hibernation, but my BBQ ribs were outstanding, even if I do say so myself!

Default I live about...

...4 hours south of Jacksonville, in a small town called Okeechobee. Next time you have a scramble up there let me know, I would love to come up and play.

My game has been in hibernation for about 30 years!
