Army reviews medical units for possible closing
AP
As the Army moves to reduce the number of wounded and ill soldiers admitted into its new coordinated care units, officials expect to be able to shut down or merge some of the centers. Those Warrior Transition Units under review for possible closure or consolidation generally have a small number of patients or are close enough to another unit that they can be combined. They include: _Redstone Arsenal, Alabama _Fort Rucker in Alabama _West Point in New York _Fort Eustis in Virginia (may be merged with Fort Lee in Virginia) _Fort Huachuca in Arizona _Fort Irwin in California _Fort Jackson in South Carolina _Fort Leavenworth in Kansas _Fort Meade in Maryland _Fort Dix in New Jersey |
