My Visit To The Wall (2002)

This Memorial Day (2002) I decided to show my appreciation and thanks to those who had served.

A while ago, I adopted a Vietnam Veteran MIA. As a daughter of a veteran I've always had a great appreciation for our military. But, I wanted to do something more than just be appreciative.

Though it took a little time and the help of some great folks, I had flyers printed that said "WE SALUTE YOU" across the top. In the center it had an American Flag and underneath it said "FOR ALL YOU'VE DONE, FOR ALL YOU DO - THANK YOU"

With flyers packed I flew to Washington, D.C. and on Memorial Day 2002, I headed to THE MALL. I went to every memorial and walked up to every Veteran I saw and gave him/her a flyer. I thought I would leave touching a few lives, I had no idea that the one who would be so greatly touched, would be me.

While there, I took the time to look for my MIA Vet, sadly, his name was on the wall, KIA. I took a photo and he lives on. He lives on through me. I will never forget. Please don't you forget either.
