Unhappy Credible Report From The Pentagon

An element of the 507th out of Texas, the boys and girls who ?Fix Things?, recently suffered an atrocity of war when they took a wrong road in Iraq! They found themselves engaged in a fire-fight against superior numbers, and when they attempted to surrender, it was just reported, that some of them were brutally gunned down!

This is, of course, not the first time that POWs were executed (murdered) by their captors. The Krauts butchered captured troops from the ?Battle of The Bulge?, the Japs of yore bayoneted many, many wounded, injured and sick men during that ?Bataan Death March?, and even The Mexicans ordered the execution of captured Texans at the ?Alamo?, including the famous woodsman/congressman/adventurer, The Honorable David Crockett of Tennessee! This recent brutality in Iraq, however, was perpetrated by ?Blood-Crazed Iraqi Maniacs!? Creatures of The Darkness, who while in a killing frenzy, butchered surrendering U.S. forces - and for this, they must pay!!

It is also worth noting that many enemy civilians in wars past (this one included), have engaged in the murder of injured combatants! ?There is nothing new here?, but this still does not make it right or legal! And usually, after the fact, these anti-heroes meld into the woodwork to hide like rabid rats, until they again see an opportunity to strike out at the defenseless!

With the news just being released that some within the 507th were murdered outright, immediately after surrendering, it brings a new color to this war, ?RED AS IN ANGER!? Those who committed these atrocities, as well as those who gave the orders, or supplied the means, must, not as President Bush said, just be held accountable - they too must be summarily executed, on the spot when caught, no ifs ands or buts!! (my opinion)

If we insist on fighting the other guy?s war, and by his rules, we will still prevail, but at a far higher cost! And for those who gave their lives, or the families that they leave behind, the fact that they fought like gentlemen and with unrestricted compassion, may bring little, if any, solace! And should the ?Hussein Regime use Chemical and Biological Weaponry? against our Coalition Forces, US, Brits, Aussies, Polish etc, etc, who will then stop the flood of outrage and demand? Outrage that will accept nothing short of deadly revenge against all of those even remotely responsible! A revenge that will demand, that if ?Weapons of Mass Destruction Are Deployed Against Our Troops?, the total annihilation of the nation
responsible should at least be considered! ?Or do some really believe that once done, other aggressor nations too will not jump on the bandwagon, figuring us an easy mark?!?

?Think not do you? Then just wait a while, especially if our kids in uniform fall prey to ?Saddam?s Weapons of Mass Destruction Before Baghdad!? And should that day arrive (God-Forbid), then any association with the ?Filthy United Nations? should be terminated at once! ?A few of them having been accessories before, during, and after the fact!?

If we must have a United Nations, or something akin to it, then let it function properly and for all. Let it not be vested and for sale as it is now, but rather an instrument of lasting peace and righteous unity. ?As of this point, it don?t even begin to approach these lofty expectation!? (opinion)

Default PHOs rules of war

Rule number one is there are no rules. War should be fought with no quarter asked and no quarter given. Mercy should be extended at the behest of the victor. Rules are only made for enforcement by the winner. I find it strange that people are outraged by the killing of some of our troops as they are surrendering, although distasteful, it is a fact of war that should be accepted. Go look at the picture on my post on 10 POWs and express the same rage and resentment, Track down the two soldiers looking on and demand their trial by courts martial or as war criminals. Rule number two is there is no such thing as a credible report from the Pentagon, unless you have personally witnessed or verified the act/incident.

Sid...from what I am seeing most of the outrage is coming from people who have not been on the ground before and expect things to be nice and neat. A gentleman's war, if you will. Those of us who have been there know there is no such thing. I used to love to read Hemingway as a young guy. Now after having experienced war first hand realize there is no romance in war, it is but a figment of ones imagination.

Default The only thing romatic

about war is your love and care of your weapon(s). The only certainty in war is that a lot of people will die, be disfigured and crippled.
