Special Forces Soldier dies in non-combat event overseas

FORT BRAGG, N.C. -- Sgt. 1st Class Shawn Green, 38, died April 26 in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, from a non-combat related incident. The incident is under investigation. Green was a Special Forces weapons sergeant, assigned to 1st Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne) in Torii Station, Okinawa, Japan. Green was a military liaison to the U.S. Embassy in Papua New Guinea.
