Unhappy 9-11 , Five years ago today

Glad I am at work today away from the TV. Just called home and my wife was crying cause Toby Kieth had just sung American Soldier on the today show. I still have the image of some parents daughter jumping from the 70th floor burned into my head. Going to be a long long day today

There was a woman spoken of in one of the programs I watched last night. She was scraping the ash from the cars parked in the street after the towers fell. Someone asked her what was it she was doing. She told the story of her sister who went to a working breakfast inone of the towers. She said she knew her sister was incinerated and she was gatheringthe ashes for the familymemorial service.Just one story of almost three thousand familiesthatremember that day five years ago as if ithappened today. May they find peace in the midst of the storm, and may they find comfort inthe knowledge thatno evil can steal the sweetmemory of happier days and times.

I too was glad I was not around the TV set for most of the day.
I avoided the news and skipped reading the days newspaper.
I didn't want to be overloaded with the memorial coverage.
I did think about the men I knew who lost their lives that day.
It truly was a long day, and rough to get through.

On differant important dates in History the Comixs in the Newspapers useually do a tribute to The days event. This Year the only Comix that coverd the 9-11 date was "Grand Ave" the last frame of the strip showed the US Flag at half mast with a banner beneath it with the words "Never Forget" http://www.comics.com/comics/grandav...-20060911.html seems a lot of real life Public Schools did on the 11th of Sept. I didn't see one School around here flying the flag at Half mast though the US Post Office did! to the people that perished on 9-11 and may we never forget they existed.

I didn't watch any of the news about it either. It's like movies about Vietnam, I don't need to watch them to know what it was like.
