Default Click

A click on a VN map was 1,000 meters sq.
This had to have somthing to do with Mortars or Arty, Anyone know why it was a 1,000 meters instead of 1,000 yards or even a mile sq.

Default Metric

The Army just went metric decades ago. The good ol' USA is one of the few coutries in the world trhat is not on a metric system.
"klick" was short for kilometer.

Question

It's funny how long that the personnel have been using the metric system even though the Army wasn't. Every tour I served in Europe since 61 on the border we were using it, everyone else was so if we didn't we could never have cooperation with other countries. Yet even then the higher ups insisted on using inch/foot when issuing orders to American units, so we always had to do the math.
