Description:
(USN) Donna Dean was born in 1941 in Marin County, California, and graduated from high school in Grass Valley CA before moving to San Francisco to find work. She enlisted in the WAVES reserves in 1963, and moved to active duty status as an officer in 1967. Donna was posted to San Diego; Lowry AFB in Colorado; Naval Sea Systems Command; and the Naval Photographic Center; and she served as a department head under the Deputy, Communications Security Command, in Washington DC. In 1974 she was posted to the Human Resources Management Detachment, Naples, Italy, where she worked on gender integration and race relations issues. She later served in the Naval Support Station at Naples. In 1978 she moved to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Norfolk VA. Donna left the Navy in 1981, and earned a Ph.D. in 1994. She has published several fiction and non-fiction works, including Warriors Without Weapons: The Victimization of Military Women (1997).

Description:
(USMC) Andrew D. DeBona, originally from Johnstown, Pennsylvania served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1955 until 1981 and retired a Lieutenant Colonel. Andy went to Vietnam in December 1966 and served as Battalion S-4 3/26 Marines and then CO of Mike Company, 3/26 Marines until September 1967. On his second tour from June 1971 until April 1972, he served as Senior Advisor, 7th Battalion, Vietnamese Marines, with which he fought in the 1972 Easter Offensive. Interview conducted by Richard B. Verrone, Ph.D.

Description:
(USA) Theodore T. Acheson, originally from Flint, Michigan served in the U.S. Army from 1967 until 1969. As a member of the Department of the Army Special Photographic Office (DASPO) based out of Hawaii, Ted first went to Southeast Asia in late 1967 TDY to Bangkok, Thailand where he documented on film the interaction between the American forces in country with the Thai military. He went TDY to South Vietnam for the first time in February 1968 to document combat in the war. On one of these asignments, he was wounded and evacuated. Ted went back to South Vietnam two more times to document various aspects of the American effort in the war. In addition to the time spent in the RVN, he also went to South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan (Okinawa and Yokahama) on assignment for DASPO. Ted was named Cinematographer of the Year for the Department of Defense in 1969 for his work documenting the construction and deconstruction of American firebases in South Vietnam.
