Default "Between (IRAQ) and A Hard Place"

"Between (IRAQ) and A Hard Place"
by N.R. Filidei (January. 4, 2005)

The title's play on words (re. "(IRAQ)") instead of: "A Rock" is quite obvious. Whereas, the historically murderously volatile, merciless and quite viciously dictatorial Middle East being: "A Hard Place" gets a little tricky. Such can be construed in many ways,...AND ALL not painting a very pretty picture for the newly freed Iraqis and their selfless and courageous Coalition Force Liberators.

One good example of The Middle East being: "A Hard Place", is that Iraq must daily suffer being surrounded by vicious dictatorships whom do EVERYTHING POSSIBLE, even countenance and encourage the wanton mass-murdering of innocent men, women and children (babies also) infidels,...so that Freedom, Liberty and Democracy don't stand a chance.
To quite lordly dictators, any democracy in their midst is a most definite NO-NO.

Another example of same: "A Hard Place" is just as obvious, even though quite amazing that so many Arabs could be duped and deceived by their Omnipotent Masters, for so long a time. Yeah, that's right. Most Middle Eastern SUBJECTS have been generationally brainwashed from birth into believing that Freedom, Liberty and Democracy are BAD & EVIL. Whereas, their never to be questioned and always to be obeyed DICTATORIAL RULERS (Muslim, Royal or Military) are good and actually holy,...even though quite the opposite, absolutely absurd, and totally untrue.

Then too The West and/or Liberators from tyranny inadvertantly make such: "A Hard Place"...even harder. Our naive policies (even though well intentioned for Iraqis and area) will drag the war against insurgent terrorists, just on and on and on.

Keep fighting conventionally, with politically-correct restraints and/or fighting a politically-correct warfare against Arab/Islamic fanatics, assassins and/or terrorists, AND MORE deaths and casualties will occur for both Coalition Forces and Iraqis (plus People of The World),...than should ever need be.
It's inevitable.

Regardless, want to achieve TOTAL VICTORY AGAINST THE ENEMY (last time done so was called: "WWII"), and not just as now dragging This War on Terrorism out to become just another 100 Year Arab Holy(?) War? Well then, maybe some of the following suggestions might be of some help for those on The Frontline of what many consider being a: "Mission Impossible"?

1. America should throw out its politically-correct warefare rule book and/or quite enemy HELPFUL (since so unilaterally one-sided): "Rules of Engagement".

Also becoming much more secretive about Our Military and their actions, as The Islamic Terrorists much more wisely do. The American People and The World (enemies inclusive) need not be informed daily about EVERYTHING,...and especially during wartime.

2. More viciously and mercilessly fight by the enemies rules INSTEAD, since fanatically murdererous muslim assassins having no political restrictions whatsoever...always have the edge.
Such is simply not acceptable, nor even fair to Coalition Forces.

3. Any nations known financing, harboring, training, arming or dispatching their murderous insurgent terrorists ANYWHERE,...should be dealt with QUITE HARSHLY & QUITE SEVERELY.

Besides, don't America's Troops, Allies and all Freedom Loving People worldwide deserve as much,...and especially since a supposed: "Super Power" is leading the fight against terrorists and terrorism???

4. Differently wait till dust settles or terrorists are stopped dead in their tracks, before rebuilding anything. Where possible or reasonably safe doing so, feeding and caring for refugees and repairing Utilities and Emergency Services, are OK.

Whatever, civilian contractors should never come to assist and work under hostile conditions, such as only The Army's Combat Engineers or Navy's: "SeaBees" are equipped handling. With Great Courage and at Great Risk to Life and Limb,...I might add.

5. Let: "America's Finest" and/or The U.S. Military fight the war DECLARED ON THE FREE WORLD by fanatical Islamic Terrorists quite differently and/or fighting unencumberred by meaningless or detrimental aspects of politics. And, nowhere are foreigner-favoring politicians more detrimental to America than right here in America,...and especially during wartime. Some American Politicians are actually treasonable.

Afterwards, and in a more peaceful Iraq, politicians should then get involved and do what they do best(?). Whatever that is? Then, and when Iraq's oil profits start mounting up for paying for such, the politicians can get involved rebuilding towns, cities and infrastructures of Iraq, such as if in New York, Ohio or Pennsylvania,...if that's what The Arabs of Iraq so choose and desire?

6. Even though not deemed important enough having in America itself, I still believe that all newly freed Iraqis should have photo and fingerprint IDs. Also believe that's the wisest coarse of action for ANY SOVEREIGN NATION's safety and security.

Besides, without much proof of identities and/or National IDs, how can it ever be determined whom actually belong on ones soil (or not)? Also, and America being a good case in point, how can it ever be determined whom are legitimately voting for their leaders, and whom are actually ILLEGALLY VOTING,...without having A National ID? Wonder how many Arab and French Nationals, and even foreign terrorists actually voted for Kerry, this last election??? Seems more than likely that much more than a few did just that.

Regardless, and wisely identifying whom are friend or foe, or whom actually belong on ones soil (or not) aside,...some pretty-drastic changes by political leaders and/or Civilian Political Warlords better happen soon. Well,...only if wanting to win The War on Terrorism in a reasonable amount of time (or at all?)?

In general, stop political command policies and political fighting restrictions which have historically proven being ineffective, non-workable and overall failures. INSTEAD & QUITE DIFFERENTLY, wisely conduct warfare in a manner for achieving TOTAL VICTORY.

MANY lives are at stake, and precious times-a-wastin,...even though most politicians and journalists apparently don't seem interested, caring or recognizing the unarguable urgency of it all.
Politicos and their propagators or validators seem more so interested in themselves, money, cliques or Parties (both ways),...than anyone or anything else? Truly a shame in a nation at war.

The End

Great job summarizing the events needed but really we've been playing old school fighting and until we can get as viscous as them they are they not going to respect us.

Hard Ball is better than Soft Ball in most cases. Until we eradicate them and as long as they know the media will focus on our casualties they will continue to spread their misfortune upon us.

The article on the Canadian snipers was excellent and we need to think like them and not capture them just waste them where they stand with their weapons in their hands. Then we have to take a photo of these losers and post it on some Arabic Web site for them to see what Ala really promises them.

Butcher's need to be treated as such. No remorse no back peddling just take them out because the are not worth the effort to extract any information from nor can they be re-educated to conform to any acceptable humanity like conditions. They have no remorse and are not worth the effort to recondition if there is such a thing.

Thanks for the compliment, and certainly can't disagree with your take on things either. Plus, sorry for the length. But, and considering all the ground covered, don't really think the commentary or: "Summarizing" was all that long.

Still, we might differ a little on that: "...respect us" bit, a-bit.
I would much prefer that all muslim murderers of: "Innocent men, women and children (babies also)" feared US(both ways),...and feared US MUCH MORE MORE than the very Wrath of God!!!

Hey, sneaky, cowardly and sicko baby killers,...
assume the position and "RESPECT" THIS!!!

Whether The Piece was too long (or not?), believe I should've added The Military to the: "...wisely identifying whom are friend or foe" segment.

The news out today about the:

...once supposedly captured and to be beheaded Marine (?),

...then later supposedly just an AWOL Marine(?),

...afterwards just a suspect of intent Marine(?),

...and now a DESERTER Marine (no ?), wanted by both Americans(?) and Syrians(?), just doesn't paint a very pretty picture for America,...to put it quite mildly.

Guess that The UCMJ People, just like our quite political and thus ever-changing Justice System, and what absurdly and/or politically and journalistically passes for Control of America's Borders,...ALSO NEEDS A MAJOR OVERHAULING?

What's next? Will we be loosing terrorist prisoners, since not returning from pass (as promised) or not returning from Compassionate Leave (as promised),...from: "Gitmo"?

Whatever, this latest: "LooneyTunes" episode sure seems like one-helluva-way to keep track of terrorist threats and way of combatting terrorism,...to this nobody.

Default Friends & Fellow Patriots...

Nothing much to add.
Just moving it up so not lost in the shuffle, since Scott's satelite internet connection is temporarily out.

Scott is my Godson, and he's in charge of feeding about 6,000 or so Airmen, Seamen and Marines, on his (not really "His" ) ship. Believe he's yatching with guys and gals somewhere in The Persian Gulf.

I initially e-mailed him to see if I couldn't get some comments (good or bad) about: "Between (IRAQ) and A Hard Place" (or on anything else here on patriotfiles.com), from those actually DOING THE FIGHTING for ALL of We Americans.

Regardless, I wish Scott, his Family, and his entire Extended Family at Sea Good LucK, Fair Weather and Smooth Sailing.
Plus, You and ALL your Buddies (even Marines),...get home safe.

The Geneva Conventions are the most misunderstood international treaties in existence. Putting aside the fact that we are the only country that even attempts to comply, they just don't apply in Iraq. Similarly, whatever some folks may wish, it is a simple fact that the US Constitition applies only to US citizens (anywhere) and "persons" PRESENT in the United States. Iranian terrorists fighting in Iraq aren't covered by any legal convention and we are legally permitted to do whatever we wish with them.

Default Yossarian...

Certainly can't argue that case,...and especially with a lawyer.

Still, I just can't understand why so many in America's Congress, Courts and other like-minded ACLU types apparently think that The American Citizenry's Constitution,...ACTUALLY covers and protects all foreigners (both here and abroad) and every living and breathing creature on earth, and EVEN MURDEROUS MUSLIM TERRORISTS (both here and abroad)?? That's just not so.

Regardless, bet You wish: "America's Finest" and/or The U.S. Military had such a great U.S. Constitutional coverage and protection, instead of just The UCMJ? Maybe then, The USS Liberty tragedy might have been much better addressed, and maybe even JUSTLY & HONORABLY resolved for all the killed and wounded U.S. Sailors,...killed or wounded by The Israeli Air force??
Hey,...just a thought.

Neil

P.S. Besides, don't all foreigners have embassies in America for handling "Their" problems, anyway?

Default Robert...

Good thinking,...plus believe that The French should take most all members of The UN back to France with them. "Birds of a feather..." and: "All That Jazz".

Besides, and since the great shortage of office space occuring in New York (re. "9/11") was supported and cheered by many terrorist-friendlies in The UN,...wouldn't it be at least practical and sensible to have QUITE DIFFERENTLY more America-friendly, normal and ACTUALLY productive type people renting space in such a large and valuable piece of property?

Hey,...let America and Friends profit from such a fine building complex,...FOR-A-CHANGE. As is now, The United Nations is the GREATEST OF ALL LIABILITIES to America and The American Taxpayer.
Kick-The-UN-the-hell-out,...and The UN Building would undoubtedly then become A GREAT ASSET to America.

Hell, and in the bargain, I've no doubt whatsoever that removing The UN from American Soil would drastically cut-down on terrorist moles, spies or operatives, whom also no doubt travel back and forth to America with ease and with even DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY POUCHES to-boot,...which is downright scary (downright nationally stupid of us permitting such also).

Would other nations at war permit such of their enemies?
I don't think so?

Thought you (maybe others also?) might be interested knowing that what you considered: "Great job summarizing" (thanks again), and I thought made some fairly good suggestions for cutting down on American Casualties,...was apparently deemed not suitable: "Can't use", by The Weekly Standard.

Guess "They" have more pressing and important matters to print about,...than merely lives or deaths of: "America's Finest".

Still, and in fairness to The Weekly Standard, they usually do show me the courtesy of responding and rejecting whatever sent them. Not all conservative publications are so courteous. Most must be into conservatively retrieving stamps from all SASE's supplied? Sure seems so to me.

Neil

P.S. Boats,
Was hoping to get some comments on the piece from Godson Scott and some of his Sailor and Marine associates somewhere in The Persian Gulf, by now. But, and since not even responding to any E-mails for sometime, I must believe that any outgoing airway/internet messages from hostile waters are not permitted, which is certainly understandable.
Regardless,...Hope ALL are Well and Safe, and come home soon.
