Women's History Month
Who is your inspiration?
Here we are over half way through March and I've yet to see one posting in this regard. It is so important to take this time to speak with our daughters and share the history with them. My short list: Marie Curie - Chemisry/Physics Jackie Cochran - Aviation Pioneer Poncho Barnes - Aviation Pioneer Coco Chanel - Fashion Designer These are a few of the women who have influenced my life. Who would you place on the list?

Sparrow,
Too true. There are so few Black Women who are honored from history. The young girls of today have not really been taught enough about their contributions to our world. Thank you for your reminder. :-) DL

If you want to see a GREAT movie about the women's sufferage check out Ironed-Jawed Angels.
It is a fantastic insight to what these women went through so we could be given the same rights as the men. Have a box of tissues ready!

I saw it a few weeks ago on HBO. I'm not sure if it was an HBO movie or just one showing on there. Either way you should be able to locate it a BB.
I hadn't realized that there were women who were jailed because they spoke out against the president. Using his own words and holding him to his promises. Can you imagine a president not keeping a promise? Never happen in today's world! ;-) DL

Queen Elizabeth 1st would top my list of the ancient women of history. She was amazing and strong. It took a lot of guts to stand up to the the church and tell them they were wrong.
She actually did quite a bit to advance technology in her country as well as reform some social issues and supported the arts.
