Corregidor
Still there but not forgotten.
Arriving at Corregidor from Manila, some 30 miles across Manila Bay. 12 inch US Army mortar battery. Oh well, and outing is an outing I suppose. Rannge: 8.3 miles, azimuth 360 degrees. 14 inch US Army arty piece on Corregidor. These have huge counter weight and would rise to fire then sink down to reload. This is the very arty piece seen in the Japanese propaganda photo where all the Japanese troops were raising their arms and hollering bonsai, bonsai. Range: 12 miles, azmimuth: 360 degrees. Breach end, 12 inch mortar.

Yes, an outing is an outing. They all look happy and healthy. Please say hello to Nel and her family for me. Sis
Noticed the carefully staged "Kilroy was here" Psyco Vets cap.

I will send your regards, Sis. All’s well with the mob, the son in green is an ER supervisor in Dallas, the son in white is an engineer in Dubai and the son in black seems to be content being a chick magnet at the Quezon Provincial University, sigh. The boy in front is Nel’s nephew and somewhat a challenge to my go with the flow skills. The clan gathering is about Nel’s 50th birthday. Real doings with all that and a Hawaiian theme party, big time.
Nel is center, the rest are nieces, two sisters and three grand nieces and a grand nephew. Just a small sampling. eh.

Oh my goodness, that was a great party! Glad to hear the boys are doing so well too. I'm sure they appreciate all your help along the way. Sis

All behind me now, literally. Off my left is Marant power plant, coal fired and 800 mW, twin line Westinghouse turbines. A project from 1996 in Quezon Province, PI. Kind of don’t know if to be happy, sad, mad or glad. I’m on Bayview landing and that is where the power plant day boats land. The land route to the power plant is very long and way too full of nasty critters; both two, four and no leg verities with attitudes for my liking, but can be done.

‘Palace in the Sky”
From the Ferdinand Marcos era and now a public park. Seen is the outdoor theater where Imelda Marcos ‘entertained’ guests. A singing star in her own mind, but attendance to her serenades was the thing to do I suppose. The view from the former Marcos veranda. In the background is Volcano Island; called Taal Volcano ’ring of fire’. Pronounced Ta-all and part of the Pacific ‘ring of fire‘.
