A Silent Tear For Every Soldier Lost
8-13-2017 SUNDAY 4 AM
He was not just a name or a number – he was someone’s son! He was among the best of our best and filled with dreams and promises, “But most of all, he was, and forever will be, An American!” So what is really in a name – not much if it is not yours I suspect? But to someone, somewhere, he was family, he was hope and he was pride! He was years of life, and decades of dreams! He was the youngster that you reassuringly held by the hand on his very first day of school, The child that you had planned to see through his awkward years - and the kid whose tears you wiped away, every time that he was hurt by a world that he often could not fully understand! And yet, he was always yours, through each and every mistake, throughout each and every tear, and through each and every stumble along the often painful roads of life! For there was always something more to him that others just could not see - but you saw it, as you wiped away his tears and replaced them with your own, for he was your son - “And there will never be another quite like him!” “But Most Of All, He Is An American, And They Just Don’t Come Any Better Than That!” by - H. Found a few words of wisdom to share with HC's posting -
THEY GAVE THEIR SONS How do I prepare to give my child to war without despair or fear? I watch the winter deer meander through the woods and feel the billion pieces of my heart break apart and fall as quietly and cold as snow. The temperature outside has dropped to freezing I must prepare to give my child to war without disdain or tears. The bastards have decided that this battle must be fought but it is not their son's or daughter's names that are caught in my throat. I'm not prepared to give my child to war but someone has to. but inside myself it's colder still. NO WHY I read about a woman who recognized her son's tattoo in a photo on the evening news. An unnamed soldier (she knew it was her son) had been captured and killed at war. She learned about it watching the plasma screen he'd bought for her before he left for war. She hadn't wanted him to get it (the plasma screen or the tattoo) and now s that's all she's left of war. Mother's Day The loss of a child is impossible to be patriotically. This note is from me: It is truly remarkable: The anguish one feels when loosing a loved one or fellow you've served with. Knowing he or she was someones child and your friend to the end. We all recognized the losses of so many and yet today our soldier's are all volunteers which to me makes them very special. Their loss may fade overtime but to those who knew them they will live in our hearts to our bitter end. (Boats)
