The ship, Derzkiy ('Defiant'), is expected to be launched in 2019 and delivered to the Russian Navy in 2021, according to local media. Attending the ceremony, Vice Admiral Viktor Bursuk, Deputy Commander-in-Chief for Armaments, declared that the ship "is a logical extension of the [Project] 20380 series and a breakthrough into the future". Former commander of the navy Admiral Viktor Chirkov, also present, added, "This project incorporates many promising, modular solutions.
