I'm a Navy vet and a Vietnam War vet, and I can't think of anything
right now to be thankful to John Kerry for after he took off the
uniform.

I say "unknown", the lumpenproletariat tool of the politburo,
is not only dead wrong, he/she/it is full of shit.

and denied medical attention by Moscow's clients in Hanoi. That's
an even juicier airplane ride than Hanoi Jane's Aeroflot flight to
Hanoi via Vientane, Laos in 1972.

BTW, Republican Duncan Hunter, veteran of 75th Ranger Company
in Vietnam, represents California's 52nd District is another
one of those "GOP war wimps" described by the sneering George
Grapman. To make matters worse, Duncan Hunter's dad, another one
of those infernal Republicans that helped dismantle the Empire
of Japan, was a Marine artilleryman in WW-II.

Cunningham, Hunter and a couple more Republican Congressman
"GOP war wimps" stayed up late on election night in 1992,
reading Special Orders into the Congressional Record, revealing
much of Slick Willy Clinton's disgraceful, corrupt and
anti-American past that had been uncovered by that date.

Maybe B-1 Bob joined 'em, I don't recall exactly.

I don't have an answer, but I can point you so a lot of facts. I can
understand that many people like you searched the faces of gods, read
thousands of books on Nam, came up with a zillions reasons why America lost
the war. But the answer you are searching for is right there infront of
you, very close to you. It is something you cherrish everyday. It is
something that makes you proud to be an american. It is in your children's
government book, in the very back of the book, in a section called "The
Declaration of Independence". To be technically correct, the answer you are
looing for is in the sentence "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that
all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with
certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the
pursuit of Happiness". Now read that sentence aloud, screaming if you need
to and tell me what are those words really meant! Then, I would tell you
the answer you are looking for. I would be very surprise if you are able to
tell me what those words meant, if you want to tell at all. If you
unwillling to tell me what do words meant, then you have already known the
answer.

We did. It was called "The Christmas bombing of 1972"...brought their
asses to the peace table mighty quick...so quick that they signed the
Paris Peace Accords less than 4 weeks later... Jan.27,1973. Problem is
Hanoi broke the peace treaty after we pulled our combat troops out and
we did nothing to enforce the treaty.

If Goldwater had been elected instead of "If you elect me President,
no American boy will set foot on Asian soil", we would have gone
down-town Hanoi the first week he took office and there wouldn't be a
Wall with over 58,000 names on it. But Goldwater made the big mistake
of telling people something they didn't want to hear...that we were in
a war already...and the left-wing media painted him as a mad-man who
would start a nuke war with China because he said if he was elected he
would end the war quickly.

We didn't use no nukes in the '72 Christmas bombing and we didn't see
no billion screaming Chinese coming to Hanoi's aid either.

So, is this the type of mud the Repigs are going to sling at Kerry?
I've been kind of wondering what their dirt of choice would be. If
this is indeed going to be their approach, then I say bring it on.
This will allow the Democrats to bring Bush's record on Vietnam to the
fore - oh wait a sec, Bush doesn't really have a record on Vietnam,
does he?

Exactly. GWB didn't play diplomatic footsy in the court of world opinion. He
massed his troops at the border and drove straight to Baghdad and unseated
Saddam. In Vietnam we should have done the same thing to Ho Chi Minh in Hanoi.
The communists of the world would have seen our determination and resolve and
the Cold War might have ended in the mid-60's. Instead, we abandoned an Ally
and communism was encouraged to take countless more lives and spread more
misery.
