The SEATO treaty was signed in the summer of 1954, more than a year and a
half after Truman left office. It was created by the State Department under
Secretary John Foster Dulles.

SEATO was not "directly equivalent to NATO." NATO included automatic
trip-wire clauses that guaranteed that the signatories would go to war if
any of the signatories were attacked. SEATO lacked such language.

Stalin? Stalin died in 1953. I doubt that he had a hand in the game.

It was in the works right after WWII and was "Signed" in 1954.

YEs, it did lack the language. But it was what originally got the US to
start sending "Advisors".

The Government of the USSR was actually Stalin/Lenin/Marx Communism. And it
stayed that way until the fall.

You forgot to mention Thom, that Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Lenin
have taken up residence in the closets of Democratic Party
members.

How does that appear?

There has never been any evidence that Colin Powell was aware of what
happened in My Lai prior to the Army beginning it's investigation. Perhaps
you can name a source for this particular allegation.

Save your breath Nigel. This is the same peckerhead that told me I'd smoked
too much dope while dodging the Vietnam War. He went on to tell me William
Duiker was a right wing fanatic so Thom couldn't believe Ho was a commie in
1920 just because Duiker says so.

Steve Denney blast Thom's ass over it.

Thom is probably as goofy as our friend A. Marsh but not as much fun.
