Default Angry Young Man

After all the happenings of last week I was reminded of one of my favorite songs from a little known Billy Joel album, "Turnstiles".
This song awakened me and maybe it will help others also. The song is "ANGRY YOUNG MAN"

There's a place in the world for the angry young man
With his working class ties and his radical plans
He refuses to bend he refuses to crawl
And he's always at home with his back to the wall
And he's proud of his scars and the battles he's lost
And struggles and bleeds as he hangs on his cross
And he likes to be known as the angry young man

Give a moment or two to the angry young man
With his foot in his mouth and his heart in his hand
He's been stabbed in the back he's been misunderstood
It's a comfort to know his intentions are good
And he sits in his room with a lock on the door
With his maps and his medals laid out on the floor
And he likes to be known as the angry young man

Chours

I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight
I once believed in causes too
I had my pointless point of view
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right

And there's always a place for the angry young man
With his fist in the air and his head in the sand
And he's never been able to learn from mistakes
So he cant understand why his heart always breaks
And his honor is pure and his courage is well
And he's fair and he's true and he's boring as hell
And he'll go to the grave as an ANGRY OLD MAN

Chours

I made a choice a long time ago to not go to the grave as an Angry Old Man! This does not mean I don't still fight battles, but I have learned to choose them carefully and not have my heart break when they don't go my way. When your up against "the system" you can't hope for much.

Happy Old Man

Tom you are doing a good job keeping your promise. Congratulations on Veteran Of The Month. We sure ran into a good brother when we found you on the net. Your funny, gut honest and compassionate. Thank you brother. And Welcome Home. A great BIG THANK YOU TO DEB who I have NO DOUBT has kept you OFF THE STREET and out of TROUBLE!

(thanks for the reminder about that tire rotation. Looked at them the other day and thought Bits would have a fit if he saw how they needed air in them he gave me the whole run down about what happens to under inflated tires..but those little thingamajigs that look like a thermometer never work for me..they just let all the air out and I'm worse off than when I started. What ever happend to the man that wears the star?..his mos changed and all he does is make change now..anywho I will get those tires rotated but someone said I would need a Jack. And the only Jack I know lives in Kansas.)

Pardon my political incorrectness here, but "That man who wears the star" is now Habib, the owner of the joint, who could give a shit less about your tires. Trying not to be an angry old man,

Ron, looked like a little guy with a .45 inside my crank case wanted to get out. He did . maybe a used truck buying time or maybe a new engine 1990 truck . Still calm.
