Hi Steve, Rodger, ...DMZ_Lt....all,

I'm abt out of time here at the library....Whew this
set-up ...form post /reply a bit diff than I'm use to....
..... Well it is sat and I have fallen way behind on my mail
...es..(and here too) Sorry if I screw up on this ...and
don'nt get back to you all right away( I will be off line till
Monday) ...
......We sure could have used this internet back in the 60s &
70s... Hell Uncle Sam would have had to account for a few
more of the missing than they did...aaah Hanoi too!
.....I got the run-around about the Cobras for years...
....first good info came from two FOs that were in the
Sundowner program ....time and location they
observed a large white man staked out naked next to the
Ben Hai... It probly was the pilot(backseat) I saw captured
fro the TWO AH-1G(s) that when down WESt of A-4.....
....The guy had Balls.... Stood andfired a pistol
S-L-O-W F-I-R-E ...as if he were on a target range ....
....the little bastards were all around him...firing up into
the air .... this was at near dark ...but as he fired his last shot
they had already been moving up along the sides of the Cobra
..... I could then only see that his vauge form disadeared
downward.... ...there was NOY WAy he could have gotten away
they were all around him and had closed the circle ....
....The se dont show up in any record that I can find....
Gary Roush (Past Pres Of VNHPA even looked into it....)
Also found two Rangers (P/75th) that were sent in( TWO
Teams) for bodyrecovery... But they are (have only vauge
memories as to exact time, loc etc....

Hi Carl,

Just wanted to Welcome You home. Just put your seabag down and relax. Posting here is almost like writing a letter. Do enjoy reading your posts, sorry I couldn't give you any info on those downed Cobras. Stop over at the Warriors Saloon, Gary and I will gladly offer you a drink and a good time.

....its Army but there are a number of us that have a good
memory for the friendships we made with Marines in
Quang Tri Prov... Some of the Army gun crews seem to
also ...IE 8/4 that fired for Camp Fuller(Dong Ha Mt.)
when it got over-ran ...was ashit deal... the FO on FULLER
finaly asked for "Time-On-Target" on his own position !
The FO didn't make it I don't belive.... But the Marine
CO made it off of the mountian and a good part of his
US and Vietnamese Marines....
Well I better go....always behind on email on Mondays.
