Purple Heart Stamp

New Stamp to Honor Purple Heart Veterans:

Recommended by the Citizens Stamp Adisory Committee for issuance in 2004, the Postal Service decided to move up the stamps release date by including it in the 2003 stamp program. The 37 cent Purple Heart stamp will be available for an indefinite period rather then the customary year long sales period generally used for commemorative stamps. The design is in development and is expected to be unveiled within the next few months.
