Default free enterprise System

We in this country operate under the free enterprise system , and now we will have to change just what that means. Free enterprise used to mean Buy at the lowest price and sell to the highest bidder. Not anymore. Right Now China would own Exxon/Moble if it wasn't for the government stepping in and saying NO, to a free enterprise deal. And the ports and airports (operations) would also be in the hands of some other company/goverment other than US owned.
Just what have we done to our American companies that were for some reason outbid or shut out of the bid.
I can understand how China could buy IBM , it just outbids the compition and as a Government it just prints up whatever amount of money it cost and hands it over. But there should be some ethics involved in selling an American company to a country rather than a company in another country.
Maybe the answer lies in the selling to a Country rather than a company, but then, China , as a country, sells 100s of Billions $ to US companies so wheres the fair play if we stop the selling to China.
This needs to be worked out before we go deeper.

I heard on CNNtonite that there is some movement by Bush & Co. to allow foreign ownership of our airlines...
