Default More hot tour action

>Visit to Kontum market and old bishopric office building. Return to Pleiku for visit to An Khe base and Dektu village, followed by liquor sipping & gong show. O/N in Pleiku.<

Sounds just like the good ol days--sip up all the liquor in Pleiku RIGHT NOW before The Final Gong. Having tinnitus means the free gong show goes on 24/7
When The Woman found out there was gonnna be elephants she insisted on going.I know there's evilminded people here who'll say th ol lrrpster is only taking her along so he can finally brag he nailed a roundeye chick in Vietnam but that's one of them vicious half truths that doesnt tell the whole story--she's also good for carrying stuff.(I'm a disabled vet!) She's also paying her own way (LRRP survival tip:Never date a woman with less money than you!)

More laughy stuff (to me)
There's tours for Vietnam vets that have their own---I'm NOT making this up---psycologists to help you through the experience.
Why weren't they there the first time when we needed em? That woulda been great: trying to walk point while Dr Phil tells you how fcked yre doing it. Anybody tries to counsel me on this trip gets whacked, thats a promise, and I mean PRONTO!.
I got an Airborne tradition to keep up here

Default Hue

In the new city of Hue which is on the east side of the river. Just east of the cannel is where we met with the 101st to stop any back door action against the Marines that went over the river to the Sididal. There is (was) a field where we decided a action plan.
Wasn't much of a plan, walk around and try not to get killed by our own planes, arty, motors, NGF, Arvin, VC, NVA. Keep it simple stupid.

Sounds like a good plan to me, it was always Plan A for me also.
Sorry if it lost the war but there it was, those ol lrrps and grunts selfishly thinking of themselves instead of what's good for society.
Dying for my country seemed less appealing to me as time went on, maybe if it had looked like it meant something i would have felt better about it.

Default Cruisin the Nam California Style

3 drives I really want to take:
-Pleiku-Anh Khe--QuiNhon or vice versa
-Buon Me Thuot-Pleiku
-Pleiku-Cambodia on rte 19

I drove on all these roads before, several times, this will bring back some deja vu--on 2 of these roads, we actually started our patrols being dropped off by trucks, talk about yr high tech.
we'll go right by the Oasis FB--we did patrol sweeps around the hills.
I'd like to se the old Enari 4th div base by Dragon Mountain.
Buon Me Thuot (we always said and spelled it Ban Me Thuot) was another place we spent time--its no surprise to me the final big battle happened right here, this was our AO before and during tet.
When I saw how huge this was and how few there were of us to inderdict it (4th Plt/E Co:"Only law west of the Srepok") I knew we were gonna lose. I would sooo love to see the HCM Trail at this point, talk to some of the old Trail people. The biggest story of the war is right here.
I'm more excited about going now then I was then!
