Wagner Group downsizing after mutiny against Russia -UK

The Wagner private military company is likely downsizing under financial pressure not long after its short-lived mutiny in June, the UK Defense Ministry said in a Sunday morning intelligence update.

"The Wagner Group is likely moving towards a down-sizing and reconfiguration process, largely to save on staff salary expenses at a time of financial pressure," said the UK Defense Ministry. "Since the abortive mutiny of June 2023, the Russian state has acted against some other business interests of Wagner owner Yevgeny Prigozhin. There is a realistic possibility that the Kremlin no longer funds the group."

In July, Reuters reported that Wagner head Yevgeny Prigozhin notified that the group would not be recruiting in the near term, but would do so in the future. Wagner said that some of his fighters had moved to other "power structures'' and as long as they didn't experience a personnel shortage, they wouldn't be recruiting.

Personal note: I'm not surprised since Putin in Russia wasn't - backing their losses.
Ukraine got significant backing from the U.S. and NATO.

Fighting for money - seems to mean little to them now - when the end results
and suffering significant military losses. I think Ukraine put up a good front. As they
know their lands much better than the Wagner's forces.

It wasn't a favorable exchange - but it was a learning lesson - as many Russian's
also didn't want to fight their neighbors - just because Putin said so.

Putin has learned something - and he was shocked - by the resistance of his
people being subjected to fighting their neighbors - just because he said so!

Russia: Putin has to go - his medical issues - and his old school waring habits
are not warranted by his People - nor to his military itself. Many hard feelings
have resulted from attacking their neighbors and relatives - of many in Russia.
