Reflection's
Lt
I'm sure they will. I do find it interesting as I post stories etc. about my dad that he told very few from Vietnam. Mostly Korea and his day's with the SAM squadron. I'm wondering if this was because this was his only "real" combat experience? I'm sure many here can relate. The only one I really remember is that he hated gong to dinner with Col Ky as he had a fork in one hand and a 45 in the other as he was always afraid of assassination attempts. Dave |

All I know is that for a long time I know that my dad flew in Vietnam but I had no real idea what that meant. As I got older and I began to understand more of the world, my dad told me some of the funny, silly stories about what it was like there. It wasn't until much, much later, when I was older, (not necessarily wiser ), married and the like that I was able to get a dad to talk about what it was like over there.
I don't want to embarrass anyone or bring up painful memories, but I think that this is the kind of history that NEEDS to be remembered. And if the childred of those who lived it can't help with the remembering, then who is going to? The government? Fat friggin chance on that one. |

Per your thread "I think that this is the kind of history that NEEDS to be remembered" So Todd please post any stories that your Dad repeated more than 3 times This is what this site is all about! Absolutly the more I read the more I feel we need to post the "the good, the bad and the ugly" (sorry Clint) sometimes we brats were removed from the living room (me usually physically as I would embarass higher ups on cars at 8) In your case as your Dad from my reasearch was the youngest of the "Dirty Thirty" probably has better info and might even remember better than the rest of the group! As a matter of fact I'd love to "interview" your Dad and I have the "friends" that we might even be able to get all on tape and a real person to interview. Let me see what I can get lined up with your Dad's permission. I really believe that there is a story here that will give all a better understanding of "how, what, when and most of all why" Dave |
