No man (or woman) is ever perfect or even beyond reproach! And to even expect any mere mortal to be without (so-called) sin - is ludicrous and ridiculous at best!! Of course, there are those out there, who forever attempt to pass themselves off as being the absolute icons of morality, the bastions of perfection and the spotless wonders of humanity - but we all (down deep) know better, now dont we? As once again, no human being is ever totally beyond reproach, especially within our current political arena And So It Is and so unfortunately, it has always been throughout human history Bar The Occasional Few!! As such, the very best that we can ever hope for or even expect, is that we select people to guide our political destiny who are genuine and who always try to Put Our Magnificent Nation First And Foremost and that is, after all, all that we can ever expect or even hope for? But unfortunately, this is not always the case and once again, unfortunately It Rarely Is!! Hardcore

This is time consuming and there are no quick fixes. The seemingly unsurmountable difficulties in tackling political corruption could also explain why anti-corruption interventions have mostly focused on bureaucratic corruption. But this reluctance to deal with root causes also explains why so many anti-corruption interventions have failed.
Political corruption is the use of powers by government officials or their network contacts for illegitimate private gain. 2. What causes political corruption? In summary, political corruption can be attributed to strong urban traditions of ethnic voting, semi-corrupt police, and bribe-offering contractors along with decentralized and inefficient law enforcement machinery. 2a. What is political corruption? Political corruption is the abuse of public power, office, or resources by elected government officials for personal gain, by extortion, soliciting or offering bribes. It can also take the form of office holders maintaining themselves in office by purchasing votes by enacting laws which use taxpayers' money. It's also Public corruption is a breach of the public's trust by government officials who use their public office to obtain personal gain. It is a violation of federal law for any federal, state, or local government official to ask for or receive anything of value in exchange for, or because of, any official act. Political corruption is the abuse of public power, office, or resources by elected government officials for personal gain, by extortion, soliciting or offering bribes. It can also take the form of office holders maintaining themselves in office by purchasing votes by enacting laws which use taxpayers' money. [Note: According to a 2017 survey study, the following factors have been attributed as causes of corruption: Greed of money, desires. Higher levels of market and political monopolization. Low levels of democracy, weak civil participation and low political transparency.] It's also been said: Forms of corruption vary, but can include bribery, lobbying, extortion, cronyism, nepotism, parochialism, patronage, influence peddling, graft, and embezzlement ... Statement: By CMI Political corruption: Addressing the root cause Political corruption differs from bureaucratic corruption. Political corruption is not only about getting the money in, but also about securing power. The consequences are therefore dramatically worse. A president helping him or herself to money from the treasury and buying political support is a whole different story than a teacher or a nurse demanding bribes to do a job. The problem with political corruption is that it goes beyond greed and personal enrichment. It gives both the means and the incentives to hold on to power. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's also been said: - The distinction between political and bureaucratic corruption is a central premise for this book. Why is it so important to distinguish between these two forms of corruption? [Because they are so different in the way we need to deal with them. Bureaucratic corruption can be curbed quite easily "if there is a political will" to do so.] Political corruption, on the other hand, is a very different ball game. The case of Qatar is a text book example of the difference between the two forms of corruption and why we need different approaches to curb them. The emir of Qatar has cracked down on bureaucratic corruption to such a degree that it barely exists any longer. He has effectively wiped it out. But Qatar is still politically corrupt. In practice, the Emir owns the entire country, something which enables him to use the system to not only stay in control, but to reinforce it. Political corruption does not simply give incentives for controlling the state, it is a means of maintaining this control. This is what makes political corruption so serious. There is a saying that the fish rots from the head. This is certainly true in terms of corruption. - Why is there so little talk about political corruption and so few efforts to address it? - Because it is so hard to do anything about it. Curbing political corruption requires the involvement of very many actors and pressures, and it requires deep democratization. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These These are but examples are all over the world and in many countries. You can read about it just about anywhere you go. As to the fix you beat one down - two pop up somewhere later. It's a racket of which we call The Blue Collar Underworld. -
