Late last month, former Defense Secretary Robert McNamara told a
Toronto reporter, Doug Saunders, that he was "utterly disgusted" by
the American war in Iraq: "It's just wrong what we're doing... if we
can't persuade other nations with comparable values and comparable
interests of the merit of our course, we should reconsider that
course, and very likely change it."

One of the chief architects of the Vietnam War, McNamara has avoided
comment on Iraq until now. But his statements in the disturbing,
