Default A Sad Reflection Upon Our Commitment!!!

So what is it going to take to get the 42 honorable lawmakers within the United States Senate who have not yet backed the “New G.I. Bill” (as of May 16, 2008), to see the light of truth? Unlike our proud and gallant GIs and other armed services, the Senate is not “General Issue!” They are elected for six years, along with respectable pay and benefits, to enact the “Will Of The People” and not just pander to “Party Politics”, or to attempt to destroy this Bill with tons of pork!

It must also be appreciated that while our Senators are being wined and dined, chauffeured about in style, and put up in posh digs, our kids out there in “Harm’s Way” are often eating basic rations, hoofing it through some pretty rough terrain, getting shot at and blown up with IEDs, and being assigned to multiple tours of combat duty!!

And yet, through all of this and more, forty-two well fed and pampered United States Senators still feel that the 1944 version of the G.I. Bill is sufficient for the warriors of today? And if this is indeed the case, should not they also take pay cuts back to the 1944 level?

“Just think of the money that this would save Our Nation’s Taxpayers, not to mention - leading by example and not dictate alone!!”

Of Course Again, These Are But My Own Personal Opinions.!
