"Politicians"

Selfish and false their primary ware,
A beast among the living within it's darkened lair,
Betrayal and lies their political call,
No conscience nor soul to take the fall.

No boundaries or limits to their faltering ways,
The lower their ethics the higher their pay,
The more evil their agenda the loftier their post,
With old Lucifer himself their final host.

From alley to penthouse their rusting armour is marred,
With the blood of patriots their rhetoric is scared,
Self-serving the prattle that litters their stage,
Their hapless victims can't even muster a rage.

Has this become our way of life,
Filled with betrayal and political strife,
Have we all lost our will to contest,
And put our honour at last to rest.

Freedoms abandoned through years of woe,
Amidst the promises of the well placed foe,
Do we now surrender with nary a cry,
And the vested gloat as we wither and die..
