Nary A Single Day
5-25-2023
(A Little Poetic License And Weird Blubbering - Maybe)? “Nary a single day slips past, where most men do not use their mortal brains (some career politicians not included)? We think, we plot, we scheme, and we create - either in the causes of good, or in the service of “The Dark-Side!” And even within our sleeping hours, our dreams are often haunted by those uncontrollable specters that ooze forth from beneath the surface of the id! It is, however, what we do with these products of our overly-active imaginations, that truly matter, as all men dream, and almost all men scheme as well – and this, even when they silently slip into “The Loving Arms of Morpheus (and Slumber)!” It is not, however, when we finally do slip the grip of consciousness, and aimlessly slide into that ebony-tinted realm of nightly oblivion that our minds truly begin to sanitize themselves? And even though some unpleasant specters of fear and woe, may still haunts our inner-sanctums, as we obliviously slide into the waiting arms of an often restless slumber, we still meander-about and this, amidst the imaginary spooks and goblins of the darkened night – And So It Is, Mr. Poe!! “SO REST YE WELL, MY OFTEN-HAUNTED FRIENDS – AS YOUR NIGHTLY BOOGIEMEN (GOOD or BAD), CAREFULLY MAP-OUT – THE ITINERARY OF YOUR BRAND-NEW DAY TO COME!” Hardcore

Boogieman! It's been a while since I've heard that expression..
HC very well spoken.
I too at time's have flashbacks - that just won't got away! I've seen death both foreign and domestic. And the sick that we know so well - seem to suffer more of late - it's their suffering aspects that haunts us (or let's say calls on us - even when they are gone). - Watching someone die as many of us have - say it isn't easy to forget and their suffering - and it disturbs us - in such a way that we remember their suffering during their last days. We wonder what our last days will be like. Those that witness our passing may be our loved ones - at those times. I've seen military death and family members die - and still to this very day - I get flashbacks - and YES it's disturbing. - And I wonder what my last days will be like. At 77 now I'm on borrowed time - not doing as well as I did let's say 40 years ago. - Family members are all gone now. I'm next in the food chain. Wife is struggling and can barely walk anymore and eats very little and refuses to see any more doctors; the poor gal says often - she just wants to die - and that no one should have to live like this! - She won't go out of the house anymore and struggles to get around and basically her body is breaking down and here to it effects her emotions and other mental issues. Which we all know know why - but she's basically going down-hill slowly as most of us older folks do as we age - and has become somewhat unable to cope with his or her issues. Yes - The Boogiemen - I haven't heard that since I was a kid - Mom would say don't let the boogieman get you - she would say. - You hit a nerve with your post just thought I'd reply! -
