Law enforcement stories...
it seems we have a lot of members with law enforcement experience. I would like for you to share some experiences, and your take on the profession as a whole. The up side and down side. I have two good friends who have both retired after over 20 years with the Memphis Police Dept. and Shelby Co. Sherrifs Dept. They are both suffering the effects of a long career in this profession. I have nothing but respect for those that risk their life everyday so we can be safe. This includes fireman and EMTs also.

Very good idea Larry. After I was dx with PTSD and attending counseling at the VA, they found out i was a firefighter and were all over me, tried to make me quit or resign. Told me that of all the veterans with PTSD, 80% become police and firefighters. Told me that it was just too stressful and would do too much harm to an already "unstable" mind. I think the opposite is true. Gives me a chance to do some good after all the bad stuff I did.
