Default quick question...

Got any ideas guys? ... trying to help someone out, and thought y'all might know something... Thanks!

"My grandfather recently passed away. While looking at pictures I found a picture he had sent my grandmother that said "Passed Examiner US Base #2436". When I try looking this up on the internet I am coming up empty handed. Can anyone help me? Is this the Base # where he was stationed or does it not mean anything? Thank you!"

Just guessing but maybe do a search for internment camps in the US. The US rounded up many German, Japanese and other immigrants during the war and put them in camps scattered around the country. Thought maybe it would be one of those camps.

Nat,
Did a quick search and base 2436 could be Ft. Campbell but not sure so I submitted the question to the DoD web site. Should have an answer within 24 Hrs.

Post It probably was . . . . . . . .

It probably was CCC camps, they had hundreds of them throughout the United States during the depression. Just a guess. Millions of Young men belonged to that organization during the depression.
