Angry Reflections Of Past Mistakes

8-2-2016

I can help but wonder what true patriots like Thomas Paine, A Founding Father (1737-1809) would have thought about those who (nearly two and a half centuries later) would be advocating (or just hinting at) a return to a monarchy (or close to it), right here within the United States of America? And unless you are brain dead, or you genuinely believe that no one in government has harbored such destructive or kingly fantasies, then might I suggest to you that you pick up a copy of Paine’s pamphlet entitled “Common Sense”, published in January of 1776, read it through twice (cover to cover), and then determine for yourself, if it, coupled with the words and actions of some who haunt the halls of power of late do not themselves also reek of a similar odor of “Absolute and Unquestionable Power and Control (opinion)?”

And for the record, “The Illustrious and Brilliant Thomas Paine” also wrote “The Age of Reason, and The Rights of Man”, when he wasn’t imbibing in a little (friendly) liquid refreshment that is! In my opinion, they just don’t make real people like Thomas Paine anymore? “Rather than doers, we sometimes now elect promise-makers and usurpers of another’s talents", in my opinion!

“I figured that I had better make this point crystal clear before the abolition of Our First Amendment, Our Second Amendment, and others of Our Constantly Under Attack Bill of Rights!?”

I ask you – “What in the Hell gives any of these Modern Day Machiavellian Wanna-bees the right to even attempt to compare themselves to, or even to circumvent the ideals and intelligence of men and women like George Washington, the Adam’s Family (John and Abigail), Molly Pitcher, Old Tom Jefferson, and Abe (the Rail Splitter) Lincoln, along with the other truly great and dedicated patriots of the past?"

“Just by claiming that it is so, hardly (if ever) truly makes it so?”

The proof still rests within the finished product, but when that pudding is made with imitation or rehashed ingredients, takes advantage of past namesakes, or is watered down with nepotistic rhetoric - and this while taking credit for the labors and intellect of patriots- past, and yet you continue to elect such people to critical positions of power, then you have no one else to blame for your ongoing troubles and woes but the face that is gazing back upon you from the other side of the looking glass that you are currently staring into - “DO YOU NOT AGREE?”
