By: Rose L. Thayer - Stars & Strips 8-16-19

AUSTIN, Texas A member of the Indiana Army National Guard died in a training accident late Thursday at Fort Hood, Texas, according to base officials.

While conducting a training operation at about 10 p.m., the soldier, whose name is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification, sustained injured in a tactical vehicle accident, according to a news release from Fort Hood.

The name of his unit and the type of training being conducted was also withheld pending notification.

The U.S. Army Combat Readiness Center based in Fort Rucker, Ala., will investigate the incident.

Since they haven't posted is name I will still notify our VFW Post 6448 Commander in Dyer, IN and see if he has access to any details on this soldier so they can follow up with the family and service reparations. Our Respects to his Family & Friends.

O Almighty Lord God, who neither slumberest nor sleepest; Protect and assist, we beseech thee, all those who at home or abroad, by land, by sea, or in the air, are serving this country, that they, being armed with thy defence, may be preserved evermore in all perils; and being filled with wisdom and girded with strength, may do their duty to thy honour and glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
