Level heads=care?

I don't understand why I expect old soldiers to be more willing to
entertain new ideas and care about what is a workable solution. Maybe
its because nobody else does and we have seen the worst of
bullheadednesses, so just possibly we could have a positive effect on a
society that in all truth is running around like chickens with their
heads cut off.

Ah hell, you bums have a happy new year, will you please, in spite of
this worrier? I see you as my future and its not a pretty sight, nor
will it be a happy pill to swallow when I stop chasing rainbows, as it
were, but unless some cutie actually trips me, I wil be here now and
again to pull your chains you old bastards. That you respond at all
fills my heart with ah love? As if you didn't know that since we don't
have branded foreheads yet we must love everyone equally. Can't you just
wait till we can be sure who we should love?

In other, more direct words, if we don't all see things YOUR way then we
are unwilling to entertain new ideas. What a crock of shit.
