VA Seeks Chemically Exposed Vets
The Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) announced a national outreach campaign to locate veterans who were exposed to mustard gas or the chemical weapon Lewisite during their service. Most of these veterans participated in chemical testing programs during World War II. They were exposed to mustard agents, which includes sulfur mustard and nitrogen mustard and Lewisite, which is a blister-producing chemical that contains organic arsenic. The VA is mailing information to veterans and survivors within the first group of participants identified by DoD. . VA is continuing to seek addresses for additional veterans and survivors, and the VA invites veterans to file disability compensation claims for any condition-related to service, including exposure to mustard agents and Lewisite. Veterans or their survivors with questions about these benefits should contact VA at 1-800-749-8387

Now let me get this straight. Sixty years after the fact(when a substantial portion of the WWII population of Armed Services men and women are close to the end of their time on this planet or have already met their maker) our government steps up to bat for using them as guinea pigs for chemical weapons of the period. That's the respect we get from a government that all too often hides behind the lies and deceipt of the greater good and in the name of Patriotism. I ask what kind of Patriotism is that and who's greater good? I guess it's just more of our tax dollars hard at work. Wonder when they'll figure out that the cancer rates are higher in the population of troops working in the current field of operations with DUM's. When will they stop turning away from and support Veterans 100% for everything they do for this country? Probably when they figure out pigs are not aerodynamically constructed for high altitude recon.
