Default Lawanda Williams

Indited for insurence fraud of more than $200,000.
After she stayed around in Hurican Katrena and looted she also filed for FEMA disaster relief in sixty some different names, Shes a fine upstanding citizen of New Orleans and now will be getting government assistance of a different kind. Trouble is not only will the taxpayers of the United States not get there $200,000. Back , now they will have to support her for the next 10 years, Not that the taxpayers weren't doing that already.

Isnt' it amazing how quickly people learn how to use the system for their own personal gains. Standing in line with food stamps and dressed to kill and driving brand new luxury automobiles have always got me wondering how they do that????

Alas, two places at once and no place at all, or another rendition of all the bozos on the bus.

The MSM and connected politicos beat the living crap out of any Federal Agency not quick enough to turn on the spigot, so in response, they just grabbed a mallet and knocked the spigots off the vats, pure and simple. One didn?t have to be all that clever to absolutely gorge on the fruits of frustration that resulted.

Like who in their right mind was going to enforce procedure in the face of all that pressure and have CBS show up at their front porch n? lookin for dirt to invent, or be cannon fodder for some inventive and ambitious politico.

One day we may learn what percent of relief moneys from all sources went to false representations or corrupt purposes, but not tomorrow or next week, probably never. My guess is that most went that way, and Ms. Williams is just one of legions of legions that were on the take and pulling deep on the flow of manna.

About the only Katrina Relief group I can think of that had a good handle on relief efforts was the Salvation Army all the rest made it too easy for someone to apply for aide and not even be a resident of New Orleans!

JD

In my opinion the Salvation Army is the only worthwhile group there is. The rest are in it for themselfs or have some agenda or are just to nieve to reolize they are being used.
United way sucks, by the way. Head of the red cross makes 1/2 million a year in salary from the top of the donated money and on top of that they charge for there services. (Oh, when there is a disaster the red cross will be there) but when the dust settles some one is getting a bill, the taxpayers, the individual, the company, someone.
Even the Marines 'toy's for tops' just hands over all there toys to black groops, NAACP, black churches, etc, Now I don't have any idea how the Marines should run there thing and the Marines are a fine upstanding Honest group, But the program (in my opinon) should be called give toys to black families that are just trying to get something for free.
I used to run the toys program for our Fire department, I would go out into the neiborhoods of Sugar Land and find families that were needy, and I didn't care what color they were. Needy was the key word. I had a Baptis church member come to me and tell me to give all the toys to the church so they could give them out?
It got to be such a negative thing for me that I just quit doing it.
I give to the Salvation Army, thats it.

Humper
I knew I would get some responce from a Marine. (and you should, by the way)
I didn't say one group. I said " NAACP, black churches, etc,"
Now , NAACP is one group, Black churches are countless number of groups and the ETC covers anyone else the Marines give to.
As a matter of fact when we had toys left over after we gave them out to families that signed up, I would give the rest to the Marines Toys for tots, That doesn't change what the program means to me. Check into it.
Also try to have a sivil discoussion on the subject. The !!!!!!!! is not nessesary.
Marines Good, Army Bad, Hows that?

Two out of two disasters should tell us that the scammers, schemers and political punks come boiling out and all looking to get some. A new twist this last go around was the big name major charity in the US found that they had internal employees on the take. On other fronts, false charities were set up in shopping malls supposedly representing some big name charity, but only grabbing the money and running.

It?s probably a good idea to carefully select a charity and stick with them. But my problem is that I have become much better at deselecting. If one puts up a Hollywood scripted idiot up as a pitchman, that?s? it for me. They got money to play games like that, they don?t need mine, and the hot button list goes on and on. If they collect for one cause but do something else, they?re out of there. It shouldn't have to be this way, but it is.

Yeah but this woman is not the only one who has done this, they need to catch more of them and jail them also.
