My thing was to carry extra c-rat cookies with me, this way I wouldn't go hungry. Guess it was kinda dumb then, but I knew I didn't want to get hungry.

We had a lot of sand bags under the seats and on the floor boards. They did work. I met a guy from my squad a few years ago who had hit a mine in 68. I had seen his truck and there was sharpenel all over. I asked Harry how he had made it through all that without a scratch? He said, SAND BAGS!

Catman and Keith - I too have this thing about my pocket knife I always carry it. When I don't have it - its like your wallet. It doesn't take long for you to know its not there.
