Reserve Force is Broken ( per ARMY RESERVE COLONEL )
http://www.sftt.org/cgi-bin/csNews/c...47980780101142
Reserve Force is Broken Hack, Your article this week was right on target. I am way up in the reserve hierarchy and know the inside score. The 60,000 non deployable problem you cite was one subject out of many during a General Officer Video Conference. This problem with non-deployables has been brewing since 1993 when the new age policies of Clinton were put in place. The Army was able to get away with this during Bosnia and Kosovo and even The Afghanistan Campaign because the amount of reserve units called up could be covered by stripping other units of all their MOSQ personnel. With the homeland security mission and Operation Iraqi Freedom, the Army Reserve found itself not able to crosslevel personnel anymore. Even reservists from the Individual Ready Reserve had to be called to augment the Active Reserve. There are simply too few deployable reservists left to cover the mission. If another major war broke out, we could not cover the Army Reserve mission with the forces we have on hand. The reserve forces are close to exhaustion. ARMY RESERVE COLONEL
