A Patriots Prayer ©
12-12-2019
© “WE THE PEOPLE”, the very first three words in “Our Declaration of Independence” literally say it all! For without this triad of our existence, all other patriotic sentiments would quickly pale and fade away into nothingness! For, and like it or not, “WE THE PEOPLE” are the true and absolute support, power and masters behind “Our Government!” We Pay The Taxes, We Fight The Wars, We Expend The Labor, We Sweat The Sweat, We Create The Innovations and most of all - We Bleed The Blood That Binds “OUR NATION” together! So once again, and I reiterate: Without “WE - THE GOOD AND EVER LOYAL PEOPLE”, of the “United States of America” all of the other fine and noble-sounding words that are contained within “Our Founding Documents” would be moot, indigent and totally without substance and the steel that is required to add rigidity and defiance to those things that are faithfully outlined within “Our Constitution and Our Bill of Rights!” And Let No Man, No Foreign Army. Or Even Alien Philosophy, ever again attempt to steal away from us, that which it took over two hundred and forty-three years of blood, sweat, tears and toil to perfect, to nurture and to protect – “For This Country Is Ours!” It was paid for in a currency of love that only a true and loyal citizen and patriot could ever truly appreciate or even understand - and may “The Almighty” forever bless and protect - “The Red, the White and the Blue”, along with all of the steadfast citizens and patriots who firmly, eternally and defiantly, stand ready in Her Defense!! Freedom in America Isn't really Free
Freedom in America
Freedom in America Isn't really free; We often pay a price To keep our liberty. Remember those we loved, Who fought for us, and died; And those we never knew For whom others mourned and cried. At home our "war" for freedom Is sadly overdue; We've let corruption stage A sad and grievous coup. No longer can we brush off Dishonesty and greed, Lust for wealth and power; We can't, we won't concede. Complacency is weakness Patriots can't afford; We have to act on wrongs That cannot be ignored. We must give up some time, Spent on other pleasures, To restore America's freedom, To keep America's treasures. Money spent on trifles Must now go to our cause: Get rid of the offenders, Constitutional outlaws. Freedom in America Isn't really free It's up to American patriots; It's up to you and me. By Joanna Fuchs ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Another by Sir Walter Scott Patriotism 1. Innominatus BREATHES there the man with soul so dead, Who never to himself hath said, 'This is my own, my native land!' Whose heart hath ne'er within him burn'd As home his footsteps he hath turn'd From wandering on a foreign strand? If such there breathe, go, mark him well; For him no Minstrel raptures swell; High though his titles, proud his name, Boundless his wealth as wish can claim; Despite those titles, power, and pelf, The wretch, concentred all in self, Living, shall forfeit fair renown, And, doubly dying, shall go down To the vile dust from whence he sprung, Unwept, unhonour'd, and unsung. -------------------------------------------- Ralph Waldo Emerson, ‘A Nation’s Strength’. What makes a nation’s pillars high And its foundations strong? What makes it mighty to defy The foes that round it throng? It is not gold. Its kingdoms grand Go down in battle shock; Its shafts are laid on sinking sand, Not on abiding rock… What makes a nation great, and what factors or qualities contributed towards making the United States the envy of the world? In this patriotic American poem, Emerson – a key figure in the American Transcendentalist movement – asks if gold, the sword, or pride make a nation powerful, before concluding that the most important thing is the men – ‘Brave men who work while others sleep’. -------------------------------------------------------------------- The Law's the Law We forgive too many crimes And we say that it's okay Go ahead and break the Law We don't mean them anyway. They're enforced when they suit us Or we'll pretend we didn't see Unless a law abiding citizen Like someone like you or me. If you're one of those in power In politics or corporate trust If you spend enough dollars Then acquittal seems a must. If you work for almost nothing You don't need to toe the line As long as the "boss" gets richer Everything will be just fine. No one should be above the Law From the bottom to the "top" There's no Law when it's twisted And this practice has to stop. Our courts say, they can burn our Flag You can stomp it to the ground Or protest with foreign colors Out there waving all around. But as Roosevelt once said Some words we should live by "We have room for but one flag" One language for you and I. We still welcome immigrants Who seek the American Way But they, too should be governed By our Laws and what they say. There's the right way and the wrong That all the people should know And if they want to break our laws Then, they should be forced to go. And if those we vote into office Insist on saying it's alright Then we should vote them out Or else we will lose the fight. Our borders are all broken And nobody seems to care Someday a War we might fight Will not be, fought "over there." All the Laws of our Land Should apply to one and all We can't just use those we want Lest we'll watch our Nation fall. We must shut down our borders Keep the illegals from our Land Though Lady Liberty has a saying This is not what She had planned. By Del "Abe" Jones Copyright 2006 Listed June 8, 2009 ------------------------------------------------------ The Patriots of Patriotism They stand so bold in dawn or dusk Little drummer boys so fawn of the musk They fired their arms to fight for their lives They ducked behind rocks and their sandbags while dodging grenades and knives They fight for their country of Red, White, and Blue Making wishes that they hope will come true With pride and honor they stand straight and tall Hoping that another soldier to the ground will not fall They sing the Star Spangled Banner to the flag so high in the sky The same flag with stars and stripes of red, white, and blue that made their wishes come true They sing the victory song and hit that big gong The war is now over, but there is not one sound nor cry For the soldiers have respect for the soldiers who have died For now there are only tears and cries of joy No more pain or wounds for they are all wrapped up in bandages There is no more needs for care packages just bundles of toys For days and days people who have lost their loved ones go to the cemetery They have broken hearts, but they are healed knowing that their loved ones are up in heaven They are healed because they know they died for their country Knowing that their loved ones would be free That they wouldn't have to go through the same degree Ding! The gong has rung once again Everyone is free No more slaves, no more war Most people just shut the door But when they think my loved one is a hero They saved the day My loved one's a hero They might be gone but that isn't the point They're up in heaven in streets of gold, because they saved us They saved our little country of Red, White. and Blue They didn't just save the U.S.A. for me . . . they saved it for you! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- By Emily Garcia - Copyright 2006
