Maine groups say state rule change capping cash raffle prizes hurts fundraising efforts

A rule change from Maine's last budget bill caps cash raffle prizes at $1,000. Leaders of local organizations that raise funds with raffles said while they could give away prizes other than cash, or smaller cash prizes, those don’t seem to generate nearly as much interest from the raffle-ticket-buying public.
